isn't that page also relevant for q4?

This page is so good and informative and most of it is true for Q4 as well - I would not just make it available over the D3 menu. I think making it an EDITOR page with game-specific information is a better approach, but that might be just me

Perhaps the best thing to do is to split this article into two articles.

One that has general level editor information in it and another that has Doom 3 specific information in it.

How else could it be structured?

The only other alternative is to write a complete article for each iteration of the editor. But when you do that you're going to have redundant information in each article.

I don't see why people would object to splitting the article.

It makes it easier to write because you don't have to repeat yourself everytime a new game comes out. You only have to document the differences.

I totally agree. one "Editor" page (because the command is called +editor) that has instant links to specific game pages at the top and that is then basically all of the current DoomEdit page that is relevant. That is best I think as to not loose the good information in this article for everyone soley interested in Quake 4
