Cleanup requested
The table for this page is broken, anyone mind fixing it? --iceheart 21:31, 21 May 2006 (W. Europe Daylight Time)
Just tried
I removed all /td and /tr tags since the wiki parser converted the open and close brackets to hex code. I know it's no valid HTML code, but it displays cleanly now. If you find the problem in the template or settings, revert to previous version. --Kamikazee 22:08, 22 May 2006 (W. Europe Daylight Time)
Wiki markup
All tables should really be written in wiki markup, software support for HTML tags in general (apart from CSS <span> and <div>) vary between "not recommended" and "horribly broken". --iceheart 22:55, 25 May 2006 (W. Europe Daylight Time)
I agree, but...
I totally agree with you. Everything on the wiki should use wiki markup.
However, in the context of tables, it's very limited in it's capabilities. I know because I initially tried to make the tables on this page using it and they just weren't very pleasing to the eye.
Now, I realize that the whole point of this wiki is the information that's presented however, apperance can play a major role in how that information is interpreted.
The problem I was having with the tables using wiki markup was that I couldn't change the backdrop color or text color for a single row. I wanted to differentiate the header of the table from the data portion.
I probably could have just used bold text or something but I wasn't really happy with that.

It's possible
Check out OpenGL Blendmode (Materials). I cleaned 3 tables there by converting them to wiki markup and aimed for the original formatting. Ok, there's still some problem with the borders but apart from that, it looks good.
I couldn't use the wiki markup codes for tables on this page since it screws up the template code. If this page didn't use a template, it would have been easier to change. --Kamikazee 19:03, 27 May 2006 (W. Europe Daylight Time)
